Self Portrait Art Workshop

Students are taught about facial proportions and how to draw portraits. They add symbols, text and collage elements to tell us a little bit about themselves.

They may choose to create a realistic abstract or expressionistic portrait of themselves. Students are amazed with the process and at their new found ability to paint and draw portraits.

A variety of materials are used – acrylic paint, oil pastels, pencil crayons, pencils, paint brushes, plates for mixing paints, water containers, erasers and paper. Hand mirrors are also needed.

Schools and participants are responsible for art supplies.

Duration: 2-3 hours or longer.
